YAS! Brass and Charpentier at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church

The 2020 Youth All Star Brass at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Please enjoy their “Te Deum” by Charpentier in their first performance of the season. Conducted by YAS! Music Director, Dr. David William Brubeck, the group also performed “Ode to Joy” by Beethoven as a prelude in addition to the composition by Charpentier.

YouthAllStar.Org, “Excellent Music for Life!” features the finest young musicians from throughout Broward and Miami-Dade Counties. Five excellent musicians, one great experience! Our seven groups are led by some of the finest musicians in South Florida, who are also great teachers: Mei Mei Luo, violin; Dr. Erin Gittelsohn, oboe; Cornelia Brubeck, cello; Richard Hancock, clarinet/saxophone; & Dr. David Brubeck, brass.

Groups of 4-9 woodwind, brass and string musicians rehearse the finest chamber music on a weekly basis in a masterclass setting. These small greater groups are distanced and offer more interaction and “on-task” time than a traditional youth orchestra while providing a smaller, safer group. Students advance more quickly, in less time, and both the skills of solo playing and ensemble playing are found within in chamber music-considered by most professional musicians to be the best musical experience available.
