Oboist Dr. Erin Gittelsohn performs throughout the South Florida area and instructs young musicians from the elementary through college level. After participating in the Juilliard School Pre-College Program, she received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music. She continued her education, receiving a Master of Music degree at the University of Maryland and a Doctoral degree at the Catholic University of America. She has served as principal oboist of the United States Air Force Band in Washington D.C., oboe instructor at Shenandoah University in Northern Virginia and has performed with numerous orchestras such as the National Symphony, Richmond Symphony and Virginia Symphony. Dr. Gittelsohn is currently oboe instructor at Florida Atlantic University, principal oboist of the Miami City Ballet Orchestra, and actively performs in various ensembles. Dr. Gitellsohn leads the Youth All Star Winds.
