YAS! would like to extend our congratulations to Kai who was just crowned Miss Broward Teen America!

Kai’s platform is music education.  As part of her Girl Scout Gold Award, Kai organized and led a 29 piece orchestra at a local public middle school!  Not only does she direct the group, but she secured the funding and instruments for the orchestra!  As a result of the feeder from Kai’s middle school program, a local high school has opened an orchestra class as well.  This is a major achievement!  There are few middle school and high school programs with strings, especially in the public shools.

Brava to Kai, her family, teachers and community.  What a wonderful ambassador she will be for all of Broward County!

Kai plays violin 1 and violin 2 in the Youth All Star top string chamber music group, coached by Mrs. Cornelia Brubeck.
